Hi! My name is Steve and I have lived in Oklahoma for over 52 years. I'm an avid hiker in the Wichita Wildlife Refuge and have worked in the horticulture field for more than 42 years. I would like to share my love of the Refuge by guiding guests through several key scenic trails along the many lakes, cliffs, and canyons. I have spent 15 years roaming this beautiful location and therefore have an intimate knowledge of the landscape, wildlife, flora and fauna within the park. I pride myself on my ability to pinpoint and select the most relevant trails to ensure you and your party enjoy the experience at the height of it's beauty based on seasonal factors. I have a very friendly, easy going personality and enjoy meeting new people, while educating and informing them of the importance of preservation of a truly unique setting .
We will conduct our workshop / course entirely within the Wildlife Refuge. We will explore hidden and unique locations often missed without the assistance of a knowledgeable guide. We will spend approximately 2 to 4 hours photographing the unique beauty within this magnificent park. As per regulations from the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, photography classes are offered 7 days a week while Interpretive tours are offered Mon-Thurs.
