First we will meet up in the historic neighborhood of Ocean Park. Then we will set off by foot learning about Palms, trees, fruits, and birds that call San Juan their home. We will also forage for food and track animals. We will continue to the beach where we learn about rising sea levels and erosion first hand. Then we will plant seeds and seedlings in areas that lack vegetation, to help protect our neighborhoods. After a little beach time, and taking in the sun, we will take all that we have foraged, and come back to our location and make super food smoothies, and get to taste local coffee and chocolate!
I was originally a Language teacher who loved to use the outdoors to teach Spanish and English. After a while I started to learn the language of nature. I was always impressed by the animals and edible plants that grow in a bustling city. I study all that the urban area has to offer, from urban sea turtles to wild city mangos.
Try a bit of Puerto Rican chocolate with your coffee a combination to start our tour off right!
try our local coffee before we head out it is a must. At the End we will make some healthy smoothies with food we collected…
We will meet in a beautiful neighborhood of Ocean Park. It is an Area many locals know but not many tourists visit. The area might be well known, but we will show you the secrets that passer byers never uncover. Plus, the beach the nature and architecture is amazing!
This Tour is for everyone. You can prepare for sun by bringing some sun block. Not too many mosquitos in this area but we are still in the tropics so any bug repellent if you are sensitive. If you bring some water along that is always great in this heat!
