Zürich is known for its high-end luxury, but can I tell you a secret? Zürich also has an amazing secondhand culture. If you are like me and you value secondhand style, sustainability, and treasure hunting for great deals, then this is the tour for you. I've spent many years thrifting in Zürich and I've created a perfect mix of interesting locations, abundant selections, and excellent pricing - this is the ultimate secondhand shopping tour of Zürich and I can't wait to share it with you! We will walk, talk and tram our way around Zürich seeing 3 of the very best secondhand stores. We will meet in the central location of the Landesmuseum. From there we will walk to an old and charming thrift shop, and then to a new and unusual used clothing market. After these 2 stops alone we will need some refueling, so we will take a tram to Paradeplatz and walk through the old city to an unusual bakery in Zürich’s Niederdorf. Next, we are just steps from a hidden vintage gem, and a short walk away from my favorite little resale shop. If you need help with your style and want suggestions, I can help. Or if you prefer to browse on your own, that's fine too. With all of your unique treasures in hand, you will still have enough time left in the day to explore the rest of this beautiful city! I can't think of a better afternoon. So come on, let's go thrifting!
A life-long thrifter living in Zürich for nearly 5 years and exclusively purchasing used clothing for the last 3 years, I have become an expert at knowing the best shops with the coolest variety and lowest prices. Because of my passion for slow fashion and a desire to share it with others, I have created Secondhand Style Zurich, a group of over 300 (and growing) secondhand enthusiasts. I create mini experiences for them where we meet at local coffee shops and explore secondhand stores. In addition to my love for treasure hunting, I have a gift for planning, an eye for quality and style, and I truly enjoy creating fun adventures for others. I am passionate about secondhand clothing and believe it is good in so many ways. I have also earned a course certificate in Fashion & Sustainability from the London College of Fashion. Let's go!
Water is free from one of the 1200 water fountains in Zürich, please bring a water bottle. Thrifting requires hydration!
I'm happy to share other shops and markets to explore on your own.
We will meet at the centrally located Landesmuseum. From there we will walk to an amazing thrift store and a unique used clothing market in the colorful Langstrasse neighborhood. After these 2 shops, we may need some fuel so we will take a tram to an unusual bakery in the heart of the old city. From there we will peek into a hidden vintage shop and finally visit my favorite resale store.
最多可有7位年满15周岁的参与者参加。家长也可携带2岁以下的儿童参加。 The age limit is flexible depending on how much your child/teenager enjoys thrift shopping for 2.5 hours! Also, I listed the activity as moderate because we will do some walking around town, there are some stairs…
Having a credit/bank card and some Swiss francs handy is a good idea. Most stores accept cards beyond a certain limit. Few accept only cash.
Please remember, unless you have a transportation pass, you will need to purchase at least one tram ticket per person - cost is around 3 chf. We will visit shops that sell both men's and women's clothing. The thrift shop sells a variety of things and you are not limited to looking at clothes.
