Bangkok is a food lover’s paradise and its street food legendary. Our street food walking tour takes you through part of Bangkok’s historic Rattanakosin conservation area - the old city. We’ll meet at the nearest MRT station and walk through a neighbourhood that dates back to the foundations of the city passing small canals, local market stalls and heritage buildings. You’ll get to sample a variety of Thai tastes including everyday staples and regional dishes both sweet and savoury. We’ll eat at a selection of local restaurants and street food stalls chosen by our team based on their own experience and recommendations from friends, family and old city locals. What you’ll taste will depend on which dishes are available on the day, it won’t always be the same but we'll always include at least 6 different local foods if you have room for it all! We'll share our knowledge of local life, history and Thai culture and pretty soon you’ll understand why Bangkok’s food culture is an important part of everyday city life. We'll walk off our full stomachs by making our way back towards our starting point, but before we say good night, we’ll divert into Wat Pho. We won't be able to see the famous reclining Buddha - they close the buildings at night - but the grounds are spectacular and the buildings magical lit up, best of all the crowds that come during the day won't get in our way.
Pam, Nai & Team
We - Pam, Pat, Nai, Mond & A - are the Bangkok Urban Adventures team. We're passionate licensed Thai guides who love to share the old city and like most locals we love street food! We'd love to show you the quiet back streets without the traffic congestion you find in most of the city - and some seriously tasty typical Thai tastes. These are the places that locals really go, not the ones in the guidebooks with queues of tourists at their doors. We want to show you more than just the famous landmarks, help you get under the city's skin sharing hidden gems and teaching you all about our culture and traditions. This street food walk includes at least 6 different dishes from various vendors in the area - exactly what we'll taste will…
The charm of Bangkok’s Rattanakosin conservation area is its lack of modernisation and its connections to Bangkok’s Royal history. There are no fancy shopping malls or skyscrapers here - just old-fashioned local businesses, homes, local restaurants and street food carts. Our street food walk is just around the corner from The Grand Palace and Wat Pho - but few tourists venture to this local neighbourhood or visit Wat Pho when it's lit up at night
Not suitable for vegetarians, vegans or those with strict dietary requirements. We enter religious sites, please wear clothing that covers your shoulders, waist and knees. The Reclining Buddha at Wat Pho is not visible at night. Walking distance approx. 3.5km You may join an Urban Adventures Group
