Experience the apitherapy house and the bee beds. Enjoy the serenity and ambience of 'beehive air therapy', a perfect mix of science and sorcery. Browse the bee book shelf with a view of the apiary and bee-boles, or just kick back and enter your dream on top of the bees, inhaling honeyed air, enjoying deep relaxation and micro-vibrations. You might want to learn about other apitherapies on offer, and all the medicines of the hive from Chris Park, expert in bee medicine, folklore, history and the heritage of honey. View the mini-museum of beekeeping artefacts and have a go at the ancient art of bee-skep making. Then of course, indulge in some honey tasting. Learn about bee forage whilst visiting the bee garden and apiary. You might want to sit a while in the sacred grove and then walk the organic farmland to visit an ancient spring, in view of the Uffington White Horse and Ridgeway.
I am a beekeeper on an organic farm in the Vale of the White Horse, UK. The bees here are kept in many different styles of hive from logs to long hives. I’m an expert in ancient beekeeping, a skep-maker, teacher, apitherapist and experimental skep beekeeper, lecturing and giving workshops within the U.K. at conferences, to beekeeping associations and special interest groups. I am also a writer, co founder and chairman of the Beekeeping History Trust. My wife Sushila is an experienced and qualified masseuse, and makes balms and soaps. We are passionate about keeping bees in ethical and healthy ways, without any treatments or chemicals, never feeding them sugar, allowing them to swarm, not clipping wings, always leaving them enough stores for the winter and so forth. We believe in the old saying ‘wherever there are bees, there is health’
