Come on! Let’s go! Our ride will begin at the ranch house with hands-on brushing our horses. I’ll saddle them for you, and briefly explain the process. We’ll ride into the forested deer pasture. See all kinds of beautiful vistas on our 7 generation ranch! We’ll skirt the sides of the large pond, and meander through wooded vistas. Our ride will take us through more beautiful natural wildlife habitat where native White Tail deer, exotic Axis deer, foxes, wild turkeys, and armadillo are usually seen. You’ll learn the importance of responsible hunting for conservation and how that helps keep a balanced healthy ecosystem. You’ll get to see why it’s so important to give back a portion of your land big or small to nature, and help create a peaceful balance between human habitation, agriculture, and nature. We’ll talk about where our horses came from and why it’s so important to us to give these beautiful animals a second chance. We may see the cows and (try to) count them all depending on which pasture they’re in. We’ll head back by the large hay field, and back into the forested pasture. We’ll end up right back at the ranch house, just in time to cool off and give the horses a rest. Experience Texas Hill Country nature and history on a working cattle ranch from (rescued) horseback! Ride is 3 miles total and about 1 hour (could go slower/faster depending)
I’m a lifelong cowgirl, growing up on the Central Coast of California. I’ve trained people from all walks of life to ride, including children, movie stars and political figures. I began working as a ranch hand in high school, helping at kids cowboy camps, training horses for movies and film, or just regular people. Then, I moved to Texas, and now run my own cattle ranch with my husband. Our mission is rescuing horses bound for slaughter and we use them as an ecologically sound (and fun) way to work our ranch. Using specifically rescued horses is how we can give back and make an impact in our world. Now I get to share my passion for the American Cowboy way of life with YOU, rescue horses, and connect guests with these beautiful animals! Come ride with me!
Saddles, tack, everything you need to ride
We’ll ride our ranch horses through hay fields, biodynamic natural forest habitat for deer, and other native creatures, along the side of a large pond, and into the cow pasture. You’ll learn the importance of sharing the land with both livestock AND native animals, and why it’s so important to give back to nature through responsible, safe, non-toxic agricultural practices. This is the Cowboy way!
最多可有4位年满7周岁的参与者参加。 Guests should be comfortable around horses, and children should be well behaved. You’ll need to stay IN the saddle and willing to take/follow directions from the trail guide. Understand animals are not robots, some days they behave…
Boots HIGHLY recommended. Smooth sole is best! NO sandals/flipflops
In order to enjoy this experience you’ll need to be able to tolerate being outside in the weather for up to 2 hours. You’ll have to be able to climb on a horse yourself (which means you will need a little flexibility and strength). Be understanding of animals and willing to follow instructions.
