We'll meet at Austin's animal shelter and begin with an inspiring introduction to the city's no-kill movement and policies that result in the saving of over 95% of the animals that come through Austin's shelter (the largest shelter in the US to achieve these results)! I'll lead our group on a tour of our impressive shelter, demonstrating how the whole city comes together to save lives. Each guest will be able to walk 3-5 shelter dogs and give the dogs some much needed love and exercise. Know that 100% of your $30 payment for this experience will be donated back to the shelter, providing funds for the care of the very dogs we will meet on your visit! Please message me to inquire about groups over 6 people or dates that aren't available! I can usually accommodate larger groups given a bit of notice.

I have volunteered walking dogs at local shelters for over 3 years. I have also been on the board of a greyhound rescue (GALT - Central Texas) for 5 years as the foster and events coordinator. I am passionate about the no-kill movement that is central to Austin's city culture, and teaching others about how to be an agent of change for shelter dogs.
Friends of Austin Animal Center works hard in partnership with Austin Animal Center to make sure every dollar makes the biggest possible difference in the lives of the pets and the people who love them. Austin Animal Center cares for as many as 18,000 pets each year. Their city budget can only go so far, so we help provide additional resources they can’t.
We will meet at Austin's animal shelter and begin with a tour of the indoor facility and sprawling outdoor grounds. I will show the group how to walk dogs safely, and guide our group to walking trails and play yards where the dogs can release some energy and enjoy a much needed walk.
