This awesome adventure gives you the best of both the picturesque Cape Peninsula and iconic Cape Point Nature Reserve, with a bonus bite of adventure! Your day begins at 09:00 when we pick you up in front of the spectacular Zeitz MOCAA Art Museum at the V&A Waterfront. (Pickups are possible in other parts Cape Town too, please inquire.) Leaving the city bustle behind, we route through the historic city seaside suburbs Sea Point, Camps Bay and Llandudno, driving through Hout Bay before exiting onto the breath-taking Chapman’s Peak Drive (rated as one of the world’s most scenic drives.) Passing through the eco-village of Scarborough, we arrive at Cape Point Nature Reserve. After summited the Point (look out for baboons, gazelle and free-range ostriches!), we head to a secluded sea-side spot for a healthy picnic before exploring some more remote areas of the park. Next is Simon’s Town and our Shark Warrior Adventure Centre on Seaforth Beach. If the weather allows, we will head out on tandem kayaks to discover the marine wildlife such as our African penguins. Should conditions not allow kayaking, we will embark on a guided walking tour of the African penguin colony. Next is Kalk Bay to visit the picturesque community fishing harbor. From here up onto the mountainous Boyes Drive pass, stopping to visit the Sharks Spotters, and finally back to your drop-off point.
I'm a passionate and award-winning conservationist, founder of a non-profit organisation, AfriOceans, and a dive travel and wildlife photographic expedition leader. I established Shark Warrior Adventures, a responsible tourism business and self-funding initiative of AfriOceans that aims to reconnect people to Nature through transformative wildlife experiences. We're a small team of registered and knowledgeable conservation guides who have a collective experience of over 35 years, which will ensure an unforgettable experience for you. Your co host Terry Corr is a qualified Nature Conservationist, Nature and Sea kayak guide, and environmental educator as Head of Education for AfriOceans. Jon Monsoon is qualified Nature Conservation Guide, published book author, career journalist, sea kayak guide and part of the AfriOceans projects team.
AfriOceans Conservation Alliance
I founded AfriOceans Conservation Alliance (AfriOceans) in 2003. It is a registered non-profit organisation, governed by a highly respected board of directors, an advisory board, as well as project-specific consultants. AfriOceans is well known for its unique campaign work, exciting research projects and education and awareness initiatives, and its role as the voice of our oceans.
