We'll meet at a beach that is appropriate for a surf, introducing the area and why its so unique! Join in for a beach yoga session, then right into the surf lesson. Full board anatomy and paddle/pop up lesson then head into the water. Individually I will work with you to insure safety and getting up and balanced on the board. By the end you'll feel familiar handling boards, paddling, and confident to try again someday solo! We'll end the day with a few more stretches, a discussion on progress and how to begin/or keep surfing in Monterey Bay!
I have been teaching Yoga for over 8 years and specialize in group/family outdoor settings. I ave worked for a surfing non profit in the area for 3 years and have taught throughout Panama and Costa Rica. A 30 min beach yoga session followed by a full surf lesson. Learning to not only feel more comfortable in the water, but learning the basics to then take with you. Connecting people to their own bodies in beautiful Monterey Bay is so special and unique :)
Wetsuits and surfboards
We'll most likely head to one of three beaches in the area, insuring the waves are small and manageable. Each location is only 10 minutes away. Once I've confidently scouted the beach for the day, we will stay there for the whole experience.

Towel, water, sunscreen, snack
Make sure to bring a change of clothes, a sweatshirt, sunscreen, water and a snack. Monterey can get hot and cold quickly, so best be prepared for both.
