We provide the best foodie tour for those who want to experience current and traditional Okinawan food culture. (Please check our cooking experience program if you’d like to focus on Okinawa’s traditional food culture https://www.airbnb.jp/experiences/213300) During the 2.5-hour tour, you will enjoy a wide variety of food. We stop by two food markets, as well as food stands, shops, and restaurants that are loved by locals and offer authentic favorites. We start with gathering at Taste of Okinawa, our cooking studio and restaurant located near Kokusai Dori in the center of Naha. In this area, where many small streets are intertwined like a labyrinth, our guide takes you to two different markets -both called the “kitchen of the locals”- and stores where you try 9 to 10 different foods, including freshly prepared Okinawan tempura, Okinawa soba, sashimi, and more! Our guide carefully explains both the food and places that help you understand Okinawa’s distinct history and culture that developed through the influence of mainland Japanese and overseas cultures. At the end of the tour, we return to Taste of Okinawa and serve local craft beer or soft drinks made with local fruits, and you can get refreshed before next event on your itinerary. We guarantee you’ll leave us with a lot of knowledge about local food culture and a full stomach from plenty of delicious local cuisine!

Our cooking class program and restaurant have both been awarded Certificates of Excellence by one of the major global travel media companies. We're excited to start this foodie tour program as our new challenge to promote Okinawa's current and traditional food cultures!
