Using fresh, seasonal flowers many of which are native to Australia, I will show you how to construct basic arrangements in rustic jars and bottles to practice, before creating a final, beautiful display that you can take home with you. I will explain what to look for when buying flowers, how to condition flowers to ensure they last as long as possible and some of the core fundamentals of flower arranging. You will also learn about some of the more popular Australian natives available as well as some not so common ones, and be amazed at how beautiful they can be. You will go home with your own pair of floristry snips, leaf strippers and stunning arrangement!
With a background in the fashion industry in Europe, I moved to Sydney during the financial crisis and couldn't find work. I decided to try my hand at being a florist. The training was old fashioned, I was frustrated I couldn't create what I wanted. 8 years ago I began working with other florists and another world was revealed - suddenly the floristry I envisioned was possible - THIS is what I'm giving you.
Floristry Snips & Shears All flowers, foliages, and equipment will be supplied
We'll spend the morning in my pretty courtyard, covered in bougainvillea vines. Its a relaxed space for you to spend a few hours being creative and experimenting with beautiful fresh flowers.
