Eastleigh is just a stone throw from the Nairobi CBD. It is a metropolitan centre but it is mostly occupied by the Somali community. At the east side of it lies the Mathare slummy area which is the second largest slum in Nairobi Kenya. Apart from alots of businesses, eastleigh has alots of social activities within, which include sports, shopping, local culture food outlets, arts etc. My main focus is the art of making ceramics by some social exibition within eastleigh Nairobi, and this is how I plan to take you through the visit. 1-I get to meet the guest at the agreed place in Nairobi cbd, where I do provide transport to the area of interest . 2-We get to the ceramic centre and I give you an introduction of what they do and also give you an opportunity to discuss and express yourself to the artist of the ceramics. 3-Get an opportunity to practice clay use and buy the ceramics and other form of arts if interested 4-Get some food at some of the local culture food outlet in Eastleigh centre( optional to the guest) 5-Get you back to the Nairobi CBD
Having done creative arts in my Education course and being a teacher in languages and arts for the last four years, it has helped me develop alot of interest in human creative skill and imagination when it comes to art work. My main focus is art made by people who don't have much attention from the public. This has helped me gain much experience in the world of arts from the most creative minds not yet revealed.
