We will provide everything you need for this experience, even the snacks! This is a private, guided tour of Stone Mountain Lake, with the option to continue into the park. We can accommodate up to 4 guests; we have (4) one-person kayaks and (1) two-person, tandem kayak. Many of our guests have never kayaked; we are very accustomed to new adventurers.
We’ll start by meeting you at the entrance of Stone Mountain Park (saving you $20), then park our vehicles at the lake drop-in. We will trek around the lake for about 2-3 hours, looking for wildlife, learning about the history of Stone Mountain, and enjoying the scenery. At the end of the lake tour, Troy and I will pull your boat up to the boat ramp and assist you out of your vessel. You may then continue into Stone Mountain Park, where you can watch glass blowing demonstrations, a laser/fireworks show, historic exhibits, walk to the summit, or whatever you may find interesting within the park.

This is a very easy, mild paddle. The lake is quite calm, however it is rather large, so we will customize according to your interests, skill, and preferred exertion.

Troy and I host this experience together- Troy has been a paddling and fishing and fly fishing tour guide for more than 10 years in the metro Atlanta area. He has extensive knowledge about the landscape, paddling techniques, local wildlife, and local Native American history. I have been a local science and history teacher for seven years. With degrees in both biology and psychology, I offer unique perspectives on both the ecological and social impacts of Stone Mountain and the park. I will be directing the majority of the tour. We are both CPR and first aid certified. I also offer hiking tours on Stone Mountain, depending on your preferences and interests. This location is especially important to us, as Stone Mountain is our home.

Stone Mountain Lake is a 363 acre lake within the historic Stone Mountain Park, where the tour takes place. After the tour, you can continue your trip and visit different attractions, picnic areas, hiking/nature trails, the summit walking trail, Quarry exhibit, the Confederate Hall Historical & Educational center, watch the Lasershow, etc. - We will customize your trip based on your interests.

I really enjoyed this guided experience. Elizabeth and Troy were both great and very helpful. Im not too experienced in kayaking but they were patient with me. I dont recommend going in winter though lol but overall i would definitely do it again.

Kayaking with Elizabeth and Troy was truly memorable and enjoyable! I loved hearing about both history and nature on this unique trip on the lake. I highly recommend this activity to anyone who enjoys getting off the beaten path and forgetting their worries for a couple of hours!
