Steps away from Burt Lake, and centrally-located to major Northern Michigan cities (less than 30 min. to Gaylord, Cheboygan, Mackinaw City, Petoskey & Harbor Springs), this is an ideal getaway for all seasons! Welcome to The River House. Nestled along the Sturgeon River close to the heart of Indian River. This custom designed house features an open studio floor plan, with a queen bed and fold out sofa available. There is a full gourmet kitchen with quartz countertops and a view of the river while cooking. Enjoy your time outside on the deck overlooking the river. In the summer months tubers and kayakers float down the river past the house regularly. Downtown Indian River is just a short distance.

Main floor has full size, modern appliances & dishwasher in our eat in kitchen. Full size washer and dryer for your use. Inviting living room for family time. Full bathroom with whirlpool tub. The roomy master bedroom has a queen size bed, and closet space. Upstairs features two bedrooms and a full bath. Outdoor free parking has room for three vehicles or two vehicles and a trailer. Backyard deck with table ample seating, gas grill, and fire pit (wood available locally). See - note for 2025

Step back in time with a visit to this log cabin with retro style, modern comforts and a few surprising luxuries. The cabin is on the Sturgeon River, surrounded by cedar, pine and birch trees. The screened porch has been described as feeling like you are in a treehouse yet the town of Indian River is very close and easily accessed even by foot. It’s perfect for the couple who want a getaway with plenty of opportunity for adventures but also a comfortable and stylish space to relax.

Pa's Retreat a Cozy Cottage for Fishing Families

Amazing fisherman's paradise. Burt lake access across the road & boat launch is just 1/2 mile away. Lots of parking. Lots of space inside to get ready for a day on the lake and for prepping family meals. This place is ideal for humble fishing families looking for a warm bed, hot shower, good meal, and a great time in the woods! We are off the beaten path, 15 minutes to town. We have high speed WiFi but the cell service can be spotty. Perfect place to turn off electronics & get away!

Burt Lake Waterfront Hideaway

Enjoy beautiful lake front northern MI, close to many "Tip of the Mitt" towns, trails, activities while enjoying beautiful Burt Lake, including our sunsets. Our guest house is on the second floor of our detached garage. It is at the end of a quiet road and is located off I-75 (exit 310 and 313), 3 miles from town, but 30-40 minutes from many other towns. Kayaks, small grill, camp fires on windless nights. No pets.
